A shed moving mule machine is essentially a tug, It hooks to the shed floor system and tugs the building through narrow area that the truck and trailer would not be able to navigate. Temporary wheels can be placed on the shed in many circumstances so there is minimal effects on lawn! We will get as close as we can with the truck and trailer, and then use the mule shed tug to take the building to the destination in your backyard!
In some situations we can lift a shed over a fence with a crane! if you do not have adequate site access for a fully build prefab shed to be tugged into your backyard with a shed moving mule machine.
Many people find temporarily removing a section of fence is a cost effective way of providing site access to have the shed brought in, but temporary fence removal is not always a option for homeowners.

Our regular service zone is 100 miles from our build shop (Sheds By Design, 14040 Cool Springs Rd, Cleveland NC, 27013) We offer FREE delivery for the first 100 miles on 8′ wide, 10′ wide, and 12′ wide buildings. Free shipping excludes 14′ wide buildings. 14′ wide buildings are custom quoted due to escort vehicles, wide load permits, and special hauling equipment needed. ALL buildings are custom quoted over 100 miles from our build shop. Crossing NC states lines incurs additional shipping expense all sizes.
We have physical Sales Locations in Hickory NC, Mooresville NC, and Cleveland NC and if your not close to a sales office, you can complete your order 100% online!
Fully built prefab portable sheds are loaded on a special shed hauling trailer. Once the storage building arrives at your house it is offloaded and then leveled in place in your backyard! Some narrow access deliveries also require a special all terrain mule machine to tug the building to your backyard! Then we level and install the storage shed.

We can bring sheds through gates in ideal situations, straight shot in, and enough left to right clearance. whatever width your building is, the gate needs to be 18″ WIDER than the building. Speak to a sales representative to discuss shed deliveries that go through gates! 980-399-5019 We can also use a crane to lift a shed over a fence (will be added to normal quote!)

We can cross your septic drain field safely! We use a lightweight shed mule machine that weighs about 1000 lbs to tug your buildings across your lawns septic drain field.
Site access requirements have to do with the width of the building you plan to buy. We offer fully built, prefab storage sheds in 6′ 8′ 10′ 12′ and 14′ widths. Whatever width your building is we recommend 2′-3′ MORE clearance to get through a narrow area. (Such as through gate or temporary opening in a fence) We often go through narrow spaces between houses, when measuring clearance keep in mind that even if the houses are 20′ FT apart, the HVAC units may stick out and reduce clearance for shed to go through. We offer FREE virtual site evaluations, send us pictures, videos and our shed delivery experts will evaluate!
We Level every shed we deliver and install! Cinder blocks for shed leveling up to 12″ on the low side of the ground for FREE!

Our floors are designed to hold heavy mower! They are made with pressure treated 4×6 skid runners, Pressure Treated 2×6 joists on 10′, 12′, and 14′ wide widths, (Pressure Treated 2×4 on 8′ widths) Durable 3/4ths inch thick 50 year floor sheathing is installed over that. Our floors can easily handle the weight of your zero turn or riding mower storage, boat, side by side, ATV, 4x4s and more!!

We offer 16 standard colors of PPG Paints. Many customers find one if these colors close enough to their home color. If your looking for a exact match, we can custom color match THOUSANDS of colors from any brand such as PPG, Sherwin Williams, Behr, James Hardi and many more! We just need COLOR CODE and BRAND to custom match your accessory building to your primary building on your property!
Siding, Trim, Doors, & Shutters can all be color customized!
We use quality 2×4, 2×6, and 2×8 in SPF (Spruce Pine Fir) and SYP (Southern Yellow Pine) framing lumber, the same lumber that is used to build houses! We do not use the cheaper 2×3 studs you may find in sheds at big box stores. On our shed floor system we use PT (Pressure Treated) SYP skid runners & joists that have a lifetime warranty against rot and termites!
